Afriqiyah Airways is the primary airline of Libya which has flights to both national and international destinations. It operates international services to more than 25 countries around Asia, Europe, Africa and Middle East. Afriqiyah Airways came into existence in the April 2001 and started regular scheduled services on 1 December 2001 to nearly 27 destinations. By mid-October 2010, Afriqiyah Airways and Libya’s other state flag carrier namely Libyan Airlines merged as a single airline.

The new A320s and A319s are giving scheduled service on Afriqiyah’s rapidly evolving international network. They carry 132 passengers with126 seats for economy and 16 seats for business class passengers while the A320 seats 144 in two class configurations (J16/Y128. The A330s fly the long-distance operations with a two-class configuration with 230 seats (J30/Y200). The in flight experience includes exclusive entertainment, good food and multilingual flight attendants. Afriqiyah Airways permits every traveler to have three bags checked in, as far as they are not more than 24 kg each for the traveler traveling in Business class, and 2 bags of 24kg for the ones who are traveling by the Economy class.
