Jet Airways the second-largest private airline of India operates scheduled flights to various domestic and international destinations. Jet Airways was integrated as an air taxi operator on 1st April 1992.  It commenced commercial operations on 5 May 1993 with a fleet of four leased Boeing 737-300 aircraft. In January 1994, Jet Airways applied for scheduled airline status, which was ultimately granted on 4 January 1995. With its chief centre at Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport, it has constantly evolved and initiated international operations from Chennai to Colombo in March 2004.Its secondary hubs are IndiraGandhi International Airport in Delhi and Chennai International Airport. The running of the company is managed by Naresh Goyal  and is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Jet Airways Airlines also operates two low-cost airlines, namely JetLite and Jet Konnect. In August 2008 Jet Airways announced its plans to completely merge JetLite into Jet Airways. However it is making all efforts to combat recession in2011 and is planning to resume scheduled flights to Shenghai. Jet Airways operates scheduled flights to SouthEastAsia, South West Asia, Middle East, Europe,North America and Canada.
